Wellies in Wilmette

It is a bit soggy in these parts.
We got so much rain today
that Chicago's major Interstates closed,
and so did school!

Who says you can't have
some outdoor adventure in the suburbs?
The flooded park at the end of our street
provided a little "flood day" entertainment.
What started as a simple frog hunt...

....turned a little bit damp.

"Pinky Promise you'll run in there with me?"

Live Action Video for you Grandparents
(don't think this shows up in Google Reader)

(fyi... this is all flood water
which means most people's basements
are looking pretty similar to this park today-yuck)

 My Wet Rats

It has been a full month since I last sat down to blog.
The girls and I made a spontaneous decision
to drive to Atlanta for their Spring Break (and Easter).
We had an amazing time together driving South,
finding a few spring flowers, and hanging out with my Mom.

While we were there this happened.

Friends... Meet Daisy, our new Boxer!!!!!!!!

Daisy is coming home the last week of May.
Check back for more photos.
Next month we will be moving again-
our FIFTH address since 2007.
Egads. Enough to give a girl whiplash,
but exciting since we will have more space and a YARD.
More on that and the story behind deciding to get Daisy to come...

And in other Little news
check out Jason
(the tough looking dude in the red spandex)
about to take the lead in a Chicago bike race.
Don't miss the matching socks.
I think they make him go faster.

That's all for now, folks.

  2. Fun times in the rain. Was it warm? WE, on the other hand, had 24 inches of SNOW this week and some more on the way next Monday and Tuesday. YUCK! We do need the moisture!!! Send some of that rain our way.

Jason...that boy! He looks awesome in his red outfit. What a guy!

  3. Moving again because our condo sold. But it is a happy thing since we are going to a four bedroom house and will have a guest room!!! So come see us! Walking distance from the Lake and the El stop... and i can't wait to play with my puppy too :-).
Love the rain..although it was more a violent thunderstorm, torrential downpour sort of rain instead of an "oregon dew," but if you look closely you'll see Eleanor is wearing her I 'heart' Oregon t-shirt in honor of the No School 'Rain' Day. It almost hit 60 degrees yesterday but this morning is SNOWING! Chicago weather is nuts...
