Crazy Hair Day

Today was CRAZY hair day at Central Elementary School.
Rynn went for a bold approach-
a duck nesting in her ponytail.

Eleanor took a more subtle route.

There were some moments of panic walking to school.

Like...what if it really isn't  crazy hair day.

Ok, I think I spy a girl with pink ponytails.
At least I won't be the ONLY one.

Whew.

Gonna be a good Friday.

It's been a good Friday for mama too.
The temps grasped toward sixty today-
the first time since October!!!!
It was warm enough for a run by the lake
and a warm fig & goat cheese sandwich
from my favorite Burmese sandwich shop.
If you live in Chicago,
 don't miss Soulwich in Evanston.

And speaking of Evanston...

Below is one of our favorite places.
It is the Evanston Art Center
a beautiful old home on the lake
turned art studio for kids and adults.

Eleanor has been taking some art classes there and really enjoying them.
In a soft sculpture class she just completed,
she created an amazing mythical creature.
Part EAGLE-part TURTLE- and part LION
she named him "Eterleeon" (E+TUR+ LION).

Next step...a story to go with her mythical creature.

  1. Way to be brave girls!!! Love the creativity.

On a picnic with Allison today, she asked if I still talked to you. "well, we read each other's blogs except she hasn't been blogging lately.

What a treat to "catch up" with you this afternoon.

  2. Love the look..what a fun way to enjoy a Friday. We, too, are having some warm days this weekend. YEAH! BUT, no flowers blooming or trees budding. I long for some color! Enjoy your weekend.
